Personal
John is married. He and his wife, Joanne, live in the North Wales countryside having moved from his home city of Liverpool.
Together, they live in a 200 year old barn conversion where they like nothing better than walking their beautiful Golden Retriever - Libby!
John is an avid collector and reader of non-fiction books, and his big hobby is military history. John is considered a world expert on Operation Anthropoid (1942), the subject of his book. He has spoken on television about it, often lectures on it and even operates his own guided tour to the places connected to this important wartime event.
In June 2006, John received a medal from the Czech Army Veterans for his research into Operation Anthropoid, and a further medal from the Slovak Army Veterans the following year.
John is also an expert on The Battle of the Little Bighorn. He was commissioned by BBC Radio to write and present a half-hour special on the true story of the event.
He is a life member of The Custer Battlefield Historical and Museum Association, a member of The Little Big Horn Association, and a founder member of the Custer Association of Great Britain.
John is in love with comedy. For the past fourteen years, he has organised and hosted Comedy Weekends up and down the country. This has been so successful that John has now built up a following of regular and loyal guests who repeatedly book each year, and his next one takes place in Llandudno from Friday 4th - Monday 7th October 2013.
